We are happy to announce our latest litter born on 12/21/21. Cher a beautiful Kereopa was paired up with our Reserve Champion Sundance to create a stunning litter. This is Cher's second litter and she did an amazing job farrowing (6) boars & (2) gilts all double wattled with some amazing colors. Cher has been a great mother and these little piglets are doing great. A boar and gilt have already been reserved for some lucky clients and the rest are available to place a deposit on. There is no doubt that these little piglets will carry on the strong genes of their champion father.

With the growing amount of coat color combinations, AKKPS has updated the definition of a TRI colored KuneKune. The color chart on the AKKPS will be updated within the next few weeks once pictures are collected to reflect updated definition.
Tri is described as three or more of the colors in the KuneKune coat from the color chart. Agouti striping is considered brown and NOT 2 colors.
AKKPS follows the BKKPS color chart and does not recognize Belted/Banded/High White however AKKPS does designate this trait with a B in the herdbook. Tri colored pigs can also qualify as belted/banded/high percentage white.

KuneKunes come in an array of colors. The dominant color comes first, followed by the secondary color. Each week we will be picking a color to post about with it's description and picture examples.
The AKKPS recognized colors are: Cream, Ginger, Black, Brown, Ginger/Black, Black/Ginger, Tri, Black/White, White/Black, Brown/White, White/Brown, Ginger/Brown, Brown/Ginger, and Gold Tip.
Today's featured color is gold tip. Per the BKKPS, the color has a base color of black or brown with gold tips to the end of the hair shaft. Gold tip is a recognized color but there are very few in the US. Breeder certification is required and the pig must be 18 months old.
